I'm not sure who'd be to blame more for that: Troy, or his editor at the Post. Someone should've caught it though.

Hi Stan: Our next SABR baseball outing is Saturday, Sept. 26, a 6:10 first pitch vs. Matt Holliday and the St. Louis Cardinals. The next monthly luncheon is Wednesday, Sept. 16. Are you planning to attend?

Whomever it was, they flied out. Hard to believe that a "national baseball writer" said he flew out.

You criticize his proof reading and misspell "Tracy" yourself. How dare you criticize such a great man?

Thanks for noticing that. I'll be sure it gets discussed at the August meeting.

Not the first time. Fact checking is not the man's strong suit. And I believe this was a Sunday column, not written on deadline.
He once stated that "Franklin Morales first major league pitch was a 94 mile per hour fast ball which Juan Pierre fouled off." The problem was this: Juan Pierre had batted second in that game.

"From the sabermetric perspective, it’s also acknowledging that you can’t just look at the team’s record as the only barometer of success, because sometimes you get lucky and win more than you maybe should, and other times you get unlucky and don’t win as many as you expected."

WELL IT MIGHT MEAN THAT BUT THAT SEEMS AWFULLY SOPHISTICATED FOR PEOPLE WHO THINK CLINT BARMES BELONGS AT THE TOP OF A MAJOR LEAGUE BATTING ORDER. MORE LIKELY THEY ARE SAYING THAT WOULDN'T MIND LOSING IF THEY "PLAYED THE GAME RIGHT" I.E SACRIFICING AND ADVANCING RUNNERS..
